Job Title: Experienced Hard Landscaper 

The Role:

Working within a high-performing team, the successful landscaper will play a key role in delivering complex and high-quality hard landscape installations across a range of premium private garden projects.

Alongside the Site Foreperson and Project Team Leader, they will contribute to the successful delivery of projects whilst maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, health and safety, and customer care.

A strong knowledge of good landscape practice will be essential, preferably supported by a relevant qualification or a willingness to obtain one.

As a key member of the project team, the successful individual will be expected to contribute to the more technical and complex elements of landscaping projects while ensuring work is completed safely, professionally and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-level hard landscape elements in accordance with specifications and drawings
  • Work in conjunction with the Site Foreperson as part of a high-performing team
  • Work within agreed timeframes to achieve successful project delivery
  • Precisely set out site hard landscaping elements in accordance with site drawings and specifications.
  • Contribute to the successful and timely completion of projects
  • Maintain excellent health and safety standards and working practices at all times.
  • Take pride in delivering exceptional workmanship and attention to detail.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in hard landscaping installation at a high level.
  • Relevant experience within the domestic landscape construction environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong knowledge of good hard landscaping practices.
  • Ability to follow instruction and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with excellent task management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues, clients and designers.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Horticultural or construction-related qualification.
  • CSCS, ROLO or similar certification.
  • Plant and machinery certification.
  • Additional landscaping qualifications or a willingness to continue professional development.

Job Title: Soft Landscaper/ Garden Maintenance 

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £30,000 depending on experience

Schedule: Day shift- Monday to Friday

Location: Undertaking work throughout Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex

 

Job Description:
As a Soft Landscaper/ Garden Maintenance at Gadd Brothers, you will play a key role in working on a variety of projects, from small gardens to large-scale designer led projects. Installing all planting from perennials in P9s through to large specimen trees and preparation of soft landscaping elements, ensuring every project is completed to the highest standard. There will also be opportunities to work on RHS show gardens, as part of the Gadd Brothers team.

Responsibilities:

  • Plant installation
  • Garden maintenance tasks
  • Soft landscaping preparation
  • Mulching and turf care
  • Seasonal work
  • Collaborate with the team to execute designs according to project plans and client specifications.
  • Ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely and on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing updates and addressing concerns.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in landscaping, with expertise in soft landscaping.
  • Knowledge of plant species and their care requirements.
  • Proficiency in using gardening tools and machinery.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Attention to detail, with a basic understanding of landscaping principles and techniques.
  • Strong physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable, self-motivated and a team player, with excellent communication skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Desired Skills:

  • Qualification in horticulture, landscaping or a related field.
  • Ability to read and work from landscaping plans and CAD drawings.
  • Knowledge of large tree planting.

Job Title: Arb Team Leader / Climber

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Schedule: Day shift- Monday to Friday

Location: Undertaking work throughout Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex

Following continued growth, we are looking to recruit a team leader to head an additional team within our arboriculture department. This opportunity would suit a competent climber with leadership skills or someone looking to develop their skills in team leadership and management.

You will be responsible for ensuring your team works to relevant industry standards and best practises, adheres to the company policies and values, and health and safety compliance. You must be able to manage work schedules and deliver projects on time and on budget. It is also important to have an open approach to teaching and encouraging younger team members to develop their skills and career progression.

An understanding of mechanised arb machinery and a hands on approach to machinery maintenance and operation would be desirable. HGV driving license would be a benefit. You will be reporting to the arboriculture manager and arboriculture director.

Required Qualifications

  • Adequate industry experience to manage and run arboricultural projects and sites
  • Competent in aerial based tree work operations
  • Relevant NPTC qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desired Qualifications

  • HGV driving licence
  • Machinery operations competence certificates
  • H&S qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH)
  • Professional tree inspection.
