Set over two levels, with a lift and sloped walkways, the ‘Greenfingers Charity Garden’ is an accessible space for people of all ages and abilities.
Designed by Kate Gould, built by Kate Gould Gardens and supported by the Gadd Brothers, sponsored by Greenfingers Charity with thanks to a private donor.
The garden was set over two levels, with a lift and sloped walkways to ensure it was an accessible space for people of all ages and abilities. A cargo net is suspended from the upper level providing a little fun and allowing for star gazing at night.
On the ground level are two further seating areas, surrounded by greenery and complemented by the soothing sound of trickling water from the water feature against the back wall. The green and white planting palette is highlighted by sparks of yellow from Iris, Lupins and Aquilegia chrysantha while a variety of clipped rounds are used to add punctuation and winter interest. Other areas of the garden contain trees and shrubs specifically suited to the intended conditions especially on the upper level where tolerances to wind and the elements have to be borne in mind.
